Nigro excelled offensively against Phoenix Rising FC, generating the most chances in the entire match with five.

Las Vegas Lights FC defender Gennaro Nigro was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Weeks 13 & 14 on Tuesday morning.
Nigro earned his spot on the Team of the Week after a well-rounded performance vs Phoenix Rising at Cashman Field, leading the match in chances created with five, winning 10 out of 13 duels, completing nine long balls, connecting on 85% of his 55 passes, and registering six recoveries.
However, the left back’s showing was not enough for the Lights to earn three points, as Phoenix Rising left Cashman Field victorious thanks to a goal from Noble Okello.
The 25-year-old from Livingston, New Jersey is currently playing his second season for the Lights. He joined Las Vegas in 2024 after a stint on loan with Dutch Eerste Divisie side ADO Den Haag. Since joining the Lights, Gennaro has played a total of 48 matches across all competitions, contributing with four assists. Three of those assists have taken place in the current USL Championship season.
The Lights will return to Cashman Field on Saturday June 14, playing against Monterey Bay FC at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available now at lasvegaslightsfc.com/tickets.
