Overall Thoughts on performance against Hartford Athletic…
It was a tough one tonight. I don’t think we were at our best by any means. I think a lot of our success falls when we have good ball security and really control the game with the ball.
And I felt like we, we weren’t as sharp as we normally were. We knew coming in Hartford has some dynamic players, especially in wide areas.
I’m still proud that the guys stayed resilient. We continue to fight to the end. We will continue to have this motto of not get too high, not get too low. We gotta pick our heads up and look forward to our game against Indy Eleven next week.
On Arozarena’s performance…
Raiko’s been key for us all season long. Again, I think that it a lot of it stems from us causing our own problems. But, fortunately, we have a keeper that can, keep us in games.
Takeaways as they prepare for Indy Eleven…
For me, it’s more of how can we be better with the ball and still for the amount of possession we have tonight how do we create more clear goalscoring opportunities? I think, some of the decisions that we’re making in the final third can be refined just a little bit more of finding the free man as well.
And then, continue to challenge this group that, when we’re defensively sound we’re a completely different team. How can we have, compactness, how can we continue to reduce space? How can we be better in our individual defending? There’s all the areas that we’ll continue to address with the group.
Khori Bennett again on the scoresheet…
Khori did well tonight. I think that it was a difficult game for him as well just in terms of what they were trying to do and turn, man-marking him in the midfield.
So that’s why we ended up, making the sub that was purely tactical towards the end. But again, always happy that, our striker can get on the score sheet.
